Car defective, company asked to pay INR 2 lakh to unhappy owner in Delhi

The Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has directed Hyundai to pay Rs 2 lakh in compensation to a man who met with an accident after his i10 car's rear tyre and rim got detached within a month of its purchase. The court stated that the car had defects within the first month of purchase and poor workmanship. In 2015, a district commission had awarded INR 80,000 compensation, which the man found unsatisfactory, leading him to approach the Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for a higher compensation. The court also acknowledged the mental agony caused by the car troubles.
