Fatal Accidents Down, Traffic Cops Cite Proactive Measures
In 2022, out of the 4,646accidents, 1,197 of them were fatal, resulting in the loss of 1,225 lives. This year, there were 4,803 reported accidents till last month, and 1,141 of them were classified asfatal, causing 1,175 deaths on the road. In 2023, there was a 4.7% reduction in the total number of fatal accidents, which led to a 3.3% decrease in the number of persons killed compared to 2022.
