Ola resumes bike-taxi services in Bengaluru, dept claims no licence issued yet

Ride-hailing firm Ola has resumed bike-taxi services in Bengaluru with a fleet of electric scooters. Ola's founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, announced that the e-bike taxi service will use Ola S1 scooters and will be the "lowest cost, very comfortable, and great for the environment." The fare for a 5km ride is INR 25. Ola plans to scale the service across the country and expand to smaller towns. However, the operation of bike-taxis is currently facing opposition and lacks clarity, with autorickshaw unions terming them "illegal.
