Mercedes-Benz CEO, Ola Kaellenius, has called cutting off economic ties with China "unthinkable for almost all of German industry" and stated that the "major players in the global economy, Europe, the US and China, are so closely intertwined that decoupling from China makes no sense." Kaellenius added that German carmakers, including Mercedes-Benz, depend on the Chinese car market, which is currently the world's largest. He predicted that sales figures in China will continue to grow, which will benefit Mercedes-Benz.
