CNG to replace diesel in Maruti Suzuki’s fuel-mix plan

CNG is set to reach pre-BSVI diesel share of 22% in Maruti Suzuki’s sales in 2022-23. Its sales of the CNG range in 2021 was at 15%. CNG, Bio-CNG, and hybrids will form the OEM’s energy-mix strategy for its models in the short to mid-term. Though the company has plans to offer CNG in 3-4 more models in the next few months, a significant share of diesel in midsize SUVs remains a missing opportunity for it.
