Former actress and Miss PH Josephine Estrada passes away in Arizona

KINGMAN, Arizona -- Josephine Brown Estrada, a former Sampaguita Pictures contract star and Miss Philippines entry in the Miss Universe 1962 pageant passed away at 75 in Kingman, Arizona on April 13 just days after her April 9 birthday. Estrada reportedly had been undergoing dialysis treatments and was slated for surgery. She was a favorite leading lady of top actors in the '60s, such as Joseph Estrada, Tony Ferrer, Vic Vargas and Dolphy. She starred in about 70 films 1960 until 1983, choosing a movie career instead of finishing her medicine course. Her first movie was "Mother Dearest."
