Hyderabad: Teachers force plaint on headmaster

Hyderabad: The Medipally police of Rachakonda commissionerate booked a case against five teachers of a Zilla Parishad High School at Boduppal for pressurising girl students into filing complaints against their headmaster. “The parents of a student lodged a complaint stating that their child was threatened to be failed in Class X examinations if she did not comply,” said the police.

On Monday, the Medipally police registered a case against the headmaster of the Zilla Parishad High School based on a complaint filed by students stating that he had misbehaved with them by touching them inappropriately and that he had also used filthy language. Soon after, however, the police received another complaint that students were being pressurised into complaining against the headmaster.

The mother of a student complained to the police that her daughter and other girls were forcibly taken away by some teachers from the school, namely Srinivas Reddy, Ashok, Vanaja, Rekha, and Sri Devi, to file the complaint.

She stated that the school staff had some unresolved issues with the headmaster owing to which, teachers were resorting to pressurising their students into filing false complaints.

They even involved Achyuta Rao, the president of the child rights organizstion Balala Hakkula Sangham, in the issue, and the complainant and her daughter were threatened that the pupil would be failed in her Class X board examinations if she did not comply.

The Medipally police said that cases have been registered based on both the complaints which were received on Monday night. “Investigation is underway and action will be taken as per the findings,” the police said.
