Traffic eased on Srinagar-Baramulla highway in wake of polls

With the north Kashmir constituency going to polls on Thursday, residents of Sanatnagar, Hyderpora and Bemina were allowed to travel on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway alongside military convoys. “Most roads connecting Srinagar with Qazigund in Anantnag wore a deserted look, and only a handful of vehicles — mostly of emergency nature — were allowed to pass through,” said Abdur Rehman, a resident of Awantipora.
