India’s forest cover increases by 1 per cent

The India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2017, released by the environment ministry today, shows that the increase in tree cover during the period has, however, taken the overall tally of total forest and tree cover together to 8,02,088 sq km in 2017 - an increase of 8,021 sq km (1% increase as compared to 2015 assessment).
